What is included in the Dowling Music Recital Room? Dowling Music's recital room is available for performances and events such as workshops, master classes, competitions, auditions, and meetings. The room can seat up to 100 people. We are pleased to offer a Hamburg Steinway Model C Grand Piano (7' 5") in the Recital Room.

How do I rent the Dowling Music Recital Room? Rentals are on a first-come, first-served basis. Please contact General Manager Rick Valentine at 713-529-2676 for booking. The full rate must be paid in advance to confirm a reservation. Cancellations made at least two weeks in advance will receive a refund.

What are the rental rates? The Recital Room wil be booked in 2-hour increments according to the chart below. Recitals should end approximately 30 minutes before the end of the rental period to allow for clean-up and preparation for the following event. If the Recital Room is not vacated by the start of the next period, a penalty fee at that period's rate will be charged. If you anticipate a lengthy event, consider booking two consecutive rental periods.

May I charge for tickets to my event? Yes, you may charge for tickets and keep all proceeds.

Will the Steinway piano be tuned? The piano is tuned monthly. If a presenter prefers the piano be tuned for a recital or event, an additional fee will be billed separately. The tuning must be requested at the time of Recital Room booking.

Is there recording capability? Dowling Music can videotape all recitals in DVD format for sale to audience members with presenter's authorization. No private video recording devices will be permitted inside the Recital Room. Still photography is allowed however.

Can I offer refreshments? Refreshments can be offered by the presenter before or after the recital at the Coffee Bar area of the retail store. No food or beverages except water is permitted inside the Recital Room. If the presenter provides his/her own refreshments, an additional $25 fee will be charged for clean-up.
